Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it on the affected page and log it here. This page describes how that works and lists every correction we have issued.
How corrections work
A substantive correction is an error that changes the meaning of a claim: an incorrect statistic, a misattributed source, a misstated study finding, or any clinical statement that, if read at face value, could mislead a reader. Substantive corrections appear at the top of the affected page in a dated correction note, are listed on this page, and update the page's "Last reviewed" date.
A minor edit is a typo, broken link, formatting fix, or non-meaning-changing rewrite. Minor edits are made in place without a correction note. They are not listed here.
How to report an error
Email [email protected] with the page URL and the specific text in question, ideally with a link to a corroborating source. We acknowledge receipt and respond with a decision within 5 business days. If the correction is substantive, the page is updated and logged here.
