Editorial Policy
AnxietyResearch.org publishes research synthesis and reporting on anxiety disorders, treatment access, and related public-health topics. This page describes how the site operates and what readers can expect from it.
Mission
Translate peer-reviewed research and public-health data on anxiety into clear, well-sourced summaries for general readers, journalists, clinicians, and policy researchers. The site is a research and reporting publication, not a clinical practice.
Source standards
We prefer the highest level of synthesized evidence available for a given question: systematic reviews and meta-analyses, then clinical practice guidelines, then U.S. government public-health datasets, then large epidemiologic studies, then individual peer-reviewed trials. The full source hierarchy and dataset selection rules are documented on the Methods page.
Review process
Every published page is reviewed by a board-certified psychiatrist (the medical editor) for clinical accuracy and adherence to the site's editorial standards. Editorial review is not authorship of every article and is not the practice of medicine. Where a page is byline-attributed to a contributor, the contributor wrote the draft; the medical editor reviewed it.
Editorial independence
AnxietyResearch.org is published by shrinkMD Publishing, LLC. The medical editor is the founder of shrinkMD, an independent multistate telepsychiatry practice. The site is editorially independent of shrinkMD's clinical operations. Editorial decisions about which topics to cover, which sources to cite, and how to characterize findings are made by the editorial team and are not subject to review or approval by any clinical practice.
Conflict-of-interest disclosure
Financial relationships and other potential conflicts of interest are listed on the Disclosures page. Where a page on this site mentions shrinkMD, the relationship is also disclosed inline.
Sponsorship and advertising policy
The site does not accept paid advertising, sponsored content, advertorial placements, or affiliate revenue. No external party pays for placement of any link, citation, or recommendation on this site. The site does not accept paid subscription fees from readers.
AI and writing tools policy
The editorial team uses computational tools, including large language models, as drafting and research aids. Tool-assisted drafts are not published without substantive human review, source verification, and editorial revision. The medical editor is responsible for clinical accuracy regardless of how a draft was produced.
We do not publish AI-generated images of people, AI-generated headshots represented as real people, or fabricated quotations of any kind.
Correction handling
Substantive errors are corrected and disclosed at the top of the affected page. The site's full corrections approach lives on the Corrections page.
